South Haven -- The Jewel of Lake Michigan
A huge proportion of its residents and visitors fervently believe that South Haven is the crown jewel of Van Buren County. Nestled on the banks of the Black River and the pristine beaches of Lake Michigan, South Haven offers much to visitors to the area and our quaint city. The downtown offers many boutique shops; restaurants and other places to eat, drink and relax; nighttime entertainment and many other ways of learning all over again how to just enjoy life!
When you are not shopping or eating in town, 8 public beaches are available for your use. One of the main public beaches is South Beach which is on the south side of the Black River and within walking distance of downtown South Haven. South Beach not only provides spectacular access to Lake Michigan and the South Haven Lighthouse, but it also turns and continues along the Black River to create a very enjoyable walk to downtown. Several equally spectacular beaches are across the Dyckman Bridge and on the north side of the Black River. North Beach rivals South Beach in its beauty and unparalleled access to Lake Michigan.
There are many attractions and events available to you when you visit Twelve Bridges RV Condo Resort: restaurants; shopping and entertainment; boat charter and other ways of having fun on the water; arts and culture; wineries; golf and other opportunities for having fun while in South Haven.
Van Buren County
As vividly described in the Van Buren County Convention & Visitors Bureau Visitor's Guide for South Haven, "Van Buren County's 13 miles of Lake Michigan beaches showcase Mother Nature's finest work. Her clear inland waters stretch along wide expanses of golden sands shielded by towering dunes to create a setting unlike anywhere else on earth. The romance of Lake Michigan and the power of her beaches to nurture the soul is the basis for the region's enduring appeal as a vacation destination for Michiganders and those beyond the mitten's border." Van Buren County also features Kal-Haven trail which 33.5 miles long. This nature trail links South Haven to Kalamazoo. It is favored by bikers spring to fall.
Besides Beautiful South Haven..
The nearby towns of Saugutuck and Douglas have amazing dining, arts, etc, as does newly renovated St. Joseph/Benton Harbor, MI (with its $500 million "Harbor Shores" project includes the new Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, home of the 2012 Senior PGA Tour or 'Champions Tour')
